SAMES was contracted by McAllen Public Utility (MPU) to provide engineering design, consulting and surveying services for a utility relocation project in response to TXDOT Ware Road widening project.
Surveying services included (1) Topographic surveying, property research for determination of compensible utilities location, right-of-way and easement mapping; (2) Waterline subsurface locate by pot hole were completed in collaboration with MPU; and (3) Field locate of sanitary sewer services and all other utilities within the right-of-way.
Engineering design services included preliminary planning coordination with TxDOT to avoid utility relocation conflicts with proposed roadway and storm system design, design of proposed 6”-16” waterline relocation, abandonment of existing waterlines, sanitary sewerline and manhole adjustments; established project control based on TxDOT project benchmarks; preparation of construction plans and specifications in accordance with TxDOT standards and MPU requirements; Prepared project estimate and review submittals for TxDOT and MPU to review and approve; and, preparation of final as-builts drawings.
Project Management services included assisting McAllen Public Utility with compensible utility support documentation required for the Advance Funding Agreement and Standard Utility Agreement; Attended MPU board meetings, bi-weekly TXDOT utility coordination during construction, and provided responses for Contractor requests for information.
