SAMES Inc. was contracted to provide multi‐discipline A‐E Design and Engineering Services as a prime contractor. The services required included preliminary facility/site development and planning to maximize the storage facility while complying with State and Local Government requirements for storm water drainage & detention, site access policy, and traffic plan for industrial semi‐truck maneuvering.
Major systems required for this project as part of Phase I included structural design for 40‐foot high concrete tilt‐wall construction with steel system, mechanical and refrigeration systems with multi‐room access and controls, site monitoring and security systems (including site access controls and dock inventory delivery/cargo recording), site infrastructure consisting of concrete truck areas and elevated passenger vehicle areas, and electrical system with backup generators (with automatic transfer switch). Additionally, as per local government requirements a complete site hydraulic analysis was conducted to determine proper detention requirements, routing, and design of storage and outfall structures to area drainage canal.
SAMES Inc. also provided construction phase services to include material submittal review, construction oversight, and contractor payment application review & approval.
At completion the project consisted of a 20,000 square foot cold storage facility which included a 15,000 square foot warehouse and 5,000 square feet of office and management area.
