SAMES was contracted by the U.S. Army Mission & Installation Contracting Command to provide all parts, labor, tools, equipment and supervision necessary for design and construction of parking lot and drainage related sitework. Construction involved the complete reparation and replacement of Military Equipment Parking and Privately-Owned Vehicle parking lots and additional site improvements at the Carl Pipkin Army Reserve Center in Beaumont, TX. The project was completed in phases, thereby allowing the Army Reserve Center to continue operations, including field training.
Specific scope items included removal of all layers of asphalt on the MEP and POV parking lots followed by repaving same with asphalt. Scope also included the removal of concrete bollards, removal of concrete aprons and areas, then reinstallation of concrete pavement and curbs. Existing fence was removed and replaced during the course of construction. New drainage system was installed as needed, along with coordination of all required permits for TxDOT right of way and TCEQ compliance.
