Palo Alto Battlefield Trail Extension

Project Details

The City of Brownsville contracted SAMES, Inc. to construct a trail extension within a National Historic Park. Major components of construction work included:

  • Clearing and grubbing (demolition of trees/tree clearing to comply with environmental report);
  • Installation of 7,500 linear feet of a 10-ft.-wide concrete sidewalk (including all grading, surface improvements and related appurtenances to comply with project plans);
  • Installation of a new 460 linear foot 10-ft.-wide boardwalk with handrails over protected wetlands in order to remain in compliance with environmental regulatory requirements;
  • Installation of two 20-ft.-wide double leaf barrier gates and one 40-ft.-wide double leaf barrier gates including associated stopping posts;

Scope of work also included handrail installation along the concrete sidewalk at select locations, parking lot and trail signage, installation of permanent exclusion fencing (installed as per the environmental assessment report), and removal and relocation of the existing barbed wire fence (including relocation of gates, replacement of fencing components as needed).

SAMES has been accurate and timely for our commercial project in the RGV. Grading accuracy was very important for this project and SAMES came through for us.

I’m a Realtor and SAMES has always been fast and responsive. I had a difficult sale the other day and the price they gave me made all the difference in closing the sale. Erica is extremely proactive and courteous.

Arnoldo Becho
