In 2017 SAMES was subcontracted by Witt O’Brien’s, LLC to assist with the disaster recovery efforts in Houston and surrounding areas. Witt O’Brien’s was contracted by the Texas General Land Office to provide emergency General Program Services related to Disaster Recovery and Response in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.
As one of their certified subcontractors, SAMES provided initial, interim and final home construction inspection services in accordance with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) fact sheet titled DR-4332 Texas Permanent Housing Construction (PHC) repair and the FEMA DR-4332 Direct Housing PHC Checklist. Our services included visual inspections, photographic documentation, preparation of scoping reports and cost estimates using required software, and the execution of documentation such as the right of entry/ingress/egress form, homeowner agreement, signed DOB form and FEMA structure form with photographic support.
SAMES also performed Mobile Housing Unit site assessment surveys, construction completion inspections and occupancy inspections as called for in the subcontract agreement. During the performance of these services our team of inspectors were tasked with providing all documentation required of FEMA to verify housing facilities for approved occupants. Mobile Housing Units are utilized by FEMA as a temporary housing solution for survivors of natural disasters.
