SAMES provided all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, construction management and quality assurance for the complete replacement of natural gas lines and metering at the Naval Air Station base in Kingsville, TX.
Scope of work included trenching and removal of underground gas service steel lines and outdated meters. The old gas lines were replaced with a new polyethylene line and marked with warning/identification detectable tape as called for in the statement of work. Due to changes in the underground gas line network, defunct gas service lines needed to be abandoned in certain locations. Abandoned gas lines were purged and sealed to help ensure the safety of the base. Once new gas lines were installed, SAMES provided GPS coordinates for the new polyethylene line for inclusion into the Government’s existing utility layout plan.
Field verification was performed for all information provided by the Government and all existing utilities were located prior to beginning work on the project. All work was performed in accordance with the contract documents including applicable FARS and DFARS clauses, statement of work, plans and specifications. SAMES coordinated daily with the contracting officer’s representative to ensure minimum disruption to the ongoing activities at the base.
